Lead Legal Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Lead Legal Counsel to shape the growth of the legal team in the fintech and consumer lending space.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice and navigate regulatory compliance in consumer lending
• Support product development by advising on legal and regulatory considerations
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements and assist with employment and customer disputes

Required Qualifications

• JD and active bar membership in at least one state
• 4-8 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in-house and at a law firm
• Prior startup experience is strongly preferred
• Experience in fintech, consumer lending, and/or payments is strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of key consumer lending laws and regulations is helpful
